POLITICS FOR DEVELOPMENT
(English) (Published on October
2009)
Nitin Gadkari has put forward the
idea of getting development in the
centre stage of political activity
and is working to promote it in
political and social circles. He de-
tastes the narrow approach of
opposition for the sake of
opposition. According to him,
political parties should set aside
their ideological differences and
unite in the cause of development,
thus contributing to the progress of
the state. It is in this background
that he has penned his thoughts in
“Politics for Development.”

SINCHAN ANUSHESHA CHASANGHARSH
(Marathi) (Published on May 2003)
STRUGGLE FOR REDUCTION OF IRRIGATION BACK LOG
A number of social and economic issues can be solved by adopting politics of development. I feel it is the politics of development and competition for development which would ultimately give the necessary impetus to the development process as whole
Do we realize how important is the facility of irrigation for the farmers and how much close to heart is the issue of irrigation to every farmer, In a way the whole future depends upon the provision of irrigation facilities. But the sad part of it is instead of thinking how best we can increase our crop efficiency through proper irrigation, the whole issue of irrigation is being politicized. The question remains now whether irrigation is a subject of development or a subject to play politics with.
The irrigation backlog still remains. This struggle would definitely take a long time and honest efforts on the part of the government and the bureaucracy
