Shri Nitin Gadkari is a family man. He frequently tells how his mother inculcated the values of cooperation and humanity in him when he was a young boy. Coming from a modest family Shri Gadkari has his legs firmly rooted on the ground and that makes him a very empathetic leader. Even in his busy schedule he finds time for family affairs like poojas, get-togethers and family functions. A proud father of two sons, Nikhil & Sarang and daughter Ketki, Shri Gadkari is also a grandfather of Nandini and Ninad. His wife Mrs. Kanchan Gadkari has been always with him and takes care of the home and the family. Almost all the members of the family, including his daughter in laws, Rutuja and Madhura, are engaged in some kind of social activities which includes cultural organizations like Sanskar Bharati, Swanandi – an organization working towards women empowerment, etc.
Shri Gadkari has preserved the group of his friends’ right from his school to his political friends. Known as very lively person, one can find many of his friends narrating stories of their friendship with him. He makes a point to be in touch with his friends and their families as and when he gets some leisure time. His friendship is not limited to the boundaries of the party and ideology and has friends across party lines. He clearly separates politics from friendship and thus is valued by many prominent personalities of the contemporary era.
Apart from enjoying the company of family and friends, Shri Nitin Gadkari enjoys listening good Indian classical as well film music. A foody by heart, he enjoys different cuisines but specially relishes the Maharashtrian dishes.
